This piece was made for a joint exhibition with Sherna Teperson in 1998, titled Peeling Stitched Eggs. It was created over the duration of that year through a process of drying used tea bags, discarding the tea, pressing the paper and hand sewing together into a sort of material. I was thinking a lot at the time about form and formlessness, and abjection.
